"Meetings like this help us rethink how to optimize antiretroviral therapy, taking into account the patient's quality of life. It's no longer a mandatory, doctor-prescribed treatment, but a way for patients to choose the best treatment options for their lifestyle and work schedule." These are the words of Roberto Gulminetti, head of the HIV unit at the Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia, who chaired the conference, "Redefining the Present to Meet the Future Challenges in HIV Treatment," organized at the University of Pavia.
